The Alithos Foundation is envisioned as a pioneering institution committed to cultivating a nuanced understanding of India’s diverse social, cultural, and political landscape. With a focus on promoting inclusive narratives and interdisciplinary research, the Foundation aspires to serve as a bridge between academia, policymakers, and the wider community. Rooted in the ethos of intellectual rigour and ethical responsibility, The Alithos Foundation aims to document, analyse, and disseminate knowledge that highlights the plurality and richness of India's culture, movements, and identities.Through collaborative research, educational outreach, and policy advocacy, the Foundation endeavours to empower voices from across the spectrum of Indian society, emphasising the experiences and contributions of women, youth, and marginalised groups. By creating platforms for dialogue and knowledge exchange, The Alithos Foundation seeks to challenge conventional frameworks, inspire transformative ideas, and contribute meaningfully to the discourse on India’s evolving socio-cultural fabric.

Our Vision and Mission 

To emerge as a leading research Foundation dedicated to reimagining Indian social and cultural discourse through research, education, and advocacy, and cultivating a more inclusive and equitable society.

Objectives 
i. Research and Documentation: Conduct in-depth studies of India’s cultural and contemporary social movements, exploring their ideological underpinnings, trajectories, and impacts.  


ii. Culturally Relevant Perspectives: Develop frameworks that center alternative Indian perspectives, particularly those of marginalised groups, on social movements and cultural practices.  


iii. Policy Advocacy: Act as a think tank, offering evidence-based policy recommendations and insights to stakeholders at various levels for inclusive and sustainable development.  


iv. Educational Outreach: Create dynamic educational programmes and public forums to engage diverse audiences in meaningful dialogue about India’s socio-cultural diversity.

 
v. Internship and Scholarship for Research Fellows and Students: Provide research internship opportunities to UG, PG, doctoral and other interested students and scholars from academia and industry. The foundation will also provide financial support in the form of scholarship to students from socio-economically disadvantaged background for their higher education.

Digital Repository

 Establishing a digital repository of cultural and contemporary social movements in India.  

Policy Dialogues

 Hosting policy dialogues, workshops, and public forums to engage with policymakers, educators, and civil society.  

Training Modules 

Developing training modules and educational resources for schools, colleges, and NGOs.
